This museum is amazing! It's huge! If you want to know anything about the history of the area this is the place to go. The women that work there are very friendly and made me feel like we were family from the start. They took 2 1/2 hours out of their busy day to give a personal free tour of the place for me, my grandmother, and my great aunt. I cannot thank them enough for giving their time and sharing their knowledge with us! There are 4 stories to the museum and in the basement there is a hidden entrance to a cave under the town. It is one of the best little museums I have ever visited! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is full of priceless gems of our nation's history.
Very rich in history of Wayne County.. Loved it.
This is a wonderful museum of history of Wayne County, KY and area, including a complete one room school house! There are many books for sale at the museum that you may not be able to purchase anywhere else. Also, next door is the Elizabeth Furr Duncan Genealogy Library for those interested in history of a more personal nature. Both are staffed with friendly folks who are willing to help you find local lodging or recommend a good place to eat in addition to guiding you though history.
Gem of this area! An incredible collection of artifacts from the civil war era all the way to the 1990s, recording American history through the eyes of Kentucky and Wayne county. Price of admission free, value of admission = priceless. 8/10 activity
Children's museum on top floor fantastic!
