The following is my humble opinion: WORST GUIDE SERVICE IMAGINABLE! We booked a trip for our 93 year old (WWII vet) grandfather's birthday with Striper Time Guide Services because striper fishing had long been on our grandfather's bucket list. Striper Time was aware of these facts. They called us the day before our trip, probably because they knew that our grandfather is not in the best of health. Okay, I understand they want to ensure that we weren't going to back out on them. So we explain that we had already driven several hours and were at a cabin we rented from Jamestown Marina for the purpose of the trip and would definitely be making our trip the following day (a.k.a my grandfather's 93rd birthday). We assisted our grandfather through the woods, down the stairs and got a shuttle across the water to the bench where we were supposed to meet Striper Time. About an hour after STRIPER TIME told us to be there (we actually got there several minutes early), we called to see what the hold up was. Striper Time informed us that they would not make it and did not offer to help find us another guide service! They did not offer to take us the next day. They NO CALL NO SHOWED on my 93 year old grandfather's birthday and did not even apologize to him!!!!!!!! Yes, I'm pissed! And if you have a heart and you read this review as you are contemplating which guide service to use, I sincerely hope you will think of my 93-year old grandfather sitting on a bench waiting for over an hour for his chance to go striper fishing only to find out that Striper Time bailed. And I wish you could see the look of disappointment on his face when we had to break the bad news to him. Because I know that if you saw that look, you not only would pay your hard earned money to a more deserving guide company than Striper Time, you would leave a bad review on here yourself to help spare others from a similar horror story. P.S. When we finally got a hold of the guide, upon information and belief, HE LIED AND SAID HIS BOAT HAD BROKEN DOWN. BUT WE HEARD FROM SEVERAL PEOPLE AT THE MARINA THAT HE HAD SIMPLY CAUGHT ZERO FISH THE OUTING BEFORE US AND HAD DECIDED TO CALL IT A DAY INSTEAD OF TAKING US OUT.

NO CALL NO SHOWED on my husband who had not gone with me to a wedding in New York so that he could take his grandfather fishing for his 93rd birthday! This was very frustrating for everyone. It appears that this company feels that because there is a shortage of guides on Cumberland they can just treat their clientele like dirt.

We had a fishing trip booked with Striper Time for this past Saturday. It was a gift for our 93 year old WW2 veteran grandfather. My cousin, younger brother and myself planned this month's in advance and leased a cabin at Jamestown Lake for this trip. We were there waiting where they told us to meet early, my grandfather was very excited to go on this trip, and we waited and waited but no one ever came. When we finally got a hold of the missing guide he said that his boat had broken down on the trip before us and he forgot to call to cancel us. The people who work at the marina said that it was common practice from him to just cancel on people :-( I understand that things happen. I understand that boats break down. What I do not understand is that if he had many hours two call us and never did, the last call we had gotten from him was the day before making sure that we were going to be there on time. We were there early, my Grandfather is not in the best of health, he is doing well for 93 years old but it is not easy for him to get all the way to where they wanted us to be at the striper station at Jamestown marina. I understand that things happen but they knew very well that we were doing this trip for Grandfather and that he is a WW2 vet who is not in the best of health they could have at least called, saved him from sitting for hours waiting on them!!! They offered no help at all and I am not even sure that they are going to refund our deposit after canceling on us after making us wait for hours! We lucked out and there was a last minute cancellation for Sunday with another company so we were able to take Grandfather out the next day, it was a lot to rearrange but it worked out, Jarred with Cumberland Striper Charters was great and even went out of his way to pick up Grandfather at the boat ramp so it was easier to get him on the boat. If you want to be treated well, and actually get to fish, DON'T GO WITH Striper Time!!! Worst experience with any company ever. I do recommend Cumberland Striper Tours tho. The other company Morgan I think, also tried to help, they seemed very nice also.
